Bearded Spike Axe

This axe is a mix of periods and places.  The spike tomahawk was traded to the Indians in north east America in the 18th century and the bearded axe was used by the Vikings.  It makes an attractive and very usable axe.    The tomahawk head is hand forged from mild steel with a high carbon bit and spike end forge welded in.  The handle is of hickory with a bees was linseed oil finish.  The bit is 3in. long, the axe is 9 -1/8″ from bit to spike tip and 23-1/2in overall length.   (#292)
